A little note from Tresselle
Thank you so much for choosing your Tresselle piece. We really hope you love it.
Every piece is made from 100% human hair and is designed as a blank canvas, ready to be personalised to you, your own hair and the way you like to wear it.
The parting
Your piece will arrive with a centre parting. If that isn’t how you wear your hair, simply lightly wet the parting area, comb it into your preferred position and allow it to dry naturally or gently set it with a hairdryer.
Why does it look so straight?
Your piece arrives styled straight so it is neat and easy to assess when it reaches you. Just like your own hair, it can be curled, waved or restyled using heated tools. We recommend using a heat protector and moderate heat. Adding a little movement can often make a big difference to how naturally it blends.
Cutting, layering & face framing
Your piece will arrive either predominantly one length or with subtle layering. You may initially feel there is more fullness around the sides than you are used to. This is completely normal as it is designed to be a blank canvas ready for personalising.
Cutting to your length, a little light layering, face framing or a soft fringe can remove some of that weight and help the piece blend beautifully into your own hair.
Your own hairdresser can help with this, or we can assist at our salon in Shepperton, Surrey.
Getting used to your piece
Wearing extra hair can feel a little strange at first. If you feel self-conscious, try wearing it around the house before wearing it out.
Have a play with the positioning too. Try it slightly further forward or back until you find the position that looks and feels most natural to you.
After washing
Some Silhouette and Bijou pieces can reveal a soft natural wave or curl as they dry. If you like this texture, gently scrunch the hair while damp and allow it to air dry naturally.
If you prefer it straight, simply allow it to dry and then smooth it with your usual styling tools and a heat protector.
Our Signature pieces generally dry much straighter.
You may also notice a very slight amount of colour release during the first wash on some colours. This can be completely normal.
A note about return hairs
Due to the way our Silhouette and Bijou pieces are constructed, you may notice some shorter hairs throughout the piece. These are known as return hairs and are a normal part of the construction.
They can be gently smoothed with a straightener on moderate heat if you prefer a sleeker finish.
Our Signature pieces are constructed differently and do not have return hairs.
Perfecting the blend
Our Tresselle Perfectly Blended Root Blending Kit has been designed to help finesse the blend between your own hair and your piece.
The sponge in the powder is ideal for larger areas, the angled brush gives more precision around the parting, roots and hairline, and the spoolie can be used to soften and blend the powder, lift excess from the skin and smooth flyaways.
You’ll also find lots of helpful videos across our Instagram, TikTok and Facebook pages showing how to position, part, blend and style your piece.
Aftercare
If your piece ever needs a little extra care and you’re struggling to refresh or restyle it yourself, please contact us directly about our Tresselle Refresh Service.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to experiment and make it your own.
And of course, if you need any help along the way, we’re always here.
With love,
